Kathmandu - Nagarkot - Dhulikhel (Hiking)

Kathmandu - Nagarkot - Dhulikhel ( Hiking)

We drove from kathmandu to Nagarkot in a bike both chilling and rocking.
Until we reach bhaktapur the ride was  dusty and crowded. Soon after passing bhaktapur the barren lands and wheat field started welcoming with a fresh air. Slowly our ride was making uphill. On the way, we saw a retreat center of buddhist monastery and local villages.  Cow, goats and buffalo are easy to see here. As most of the people depend on agriculture and livestock. The Nagarkot hill is at the height of 2100m and when we reached near to 1800m the chill air and tropical climate we can feel on air. The plant “ Gold Raspberries” are preparing for their best to sprout within next 15-20 days and when they sprout it opens their heart the thousands of berries ripen at once, where tourist and visitor are busy picking up and tasting the mixture of sweet and bitter at once.

Once we cross the army barrack at Nagarkot hill we take a left turn on the way to Bhangeri Durbar Resort Hotel here we are about to begin our journey in a offroad. Terrace Field is very common in hilly region of Nepal, so is here. Bumpy roads and ungravel roads are unfriendly , and we must consider it as safe and feel like highway.  After crossing Bhangeri Durbar Resort, on walking distance of 500 meters ahead we will reach a small grass land, as mentioned coldness is everywhere.

This hiking route is definitely a worth to travel. The silence of dense forest and chirping of birds are profound. The biodiversity of  flora and fauna is next attraction where we get astonished by.  On walking about 2 km we will reach to a destination at a top hill where two roads get separated (a) Dhulikhel cycling route and b) Dhulikhel down hill road.  From here we chose a route Dhulikhel cycling route and start going downhill following that road.  On season ( April /May) “Golden Raspberries” and “Black  Raspberries” are commonly seen. Downhill walking approx 1km finally, we will reach to a viewpoint, from where whole Langtang Mountain Range can be seen and local village life can be experienced. The moment of bliss when we hear barking deer sound which can be heard easily there.
